KABILITHTHA travel...🙏🙏🙏

 

    This Kabiliththa Devalaya is located in the Monaragala District of the Uva Province. It is located near the Kumbukkan Oya and is also know as the Siyambala Devalaya.

    There is no building at this place and devotees worship a 9 feet tall Siyambala tree.

    This place is know as a place where the god Katharagama meditates alive. Worshiping the Kabiliththa Devalaya is not an easy task. Those who go on that journey should abstain from eating meat for about a month.

    This is not an easy journey. It is possible to visit the Devalaya by jeeps. Those jeeps even get stuck in the mud. Then another jeep is used and the jeep is towed. These jeeps have to be rented and the rent for one jeep is around Rs.30000.

    During this journey, unripe sweets and fruits are taken for gods and muruthan are cooked for the gods. Those who go on this journey must be careful when words are spoken. This Kabiliththa Devalaya is a place full of miracles. 

    The specialty here is that woman are not taken on this journey. But nowadays woman can also be seen carrying.

    Going to Kabiliththa Pilgrimage is something I have been looking forward to for a long time. That hope came true in 2018 and it came true because of my dancing teacher.

    Before going to the Kabiliththa Devalaya, it is customary to go to Katharagama and pay homage to the Kirivehera and then proceed to Kabiliththa. 

    Before going to the Devalaya, it is mandatory to bathe in the Kumbukkan oya and cross thr river in clean clothes. The poojas here are dressed in white and must be new. 

There is an elephant in charge of this shrine and the elephant attacks who misbehave.

I left the Kabiliththa Devalaya hoping to go to the Kabiliththa Devalaya again..🙏🙏🙏
