Thashma Niwanthaka

  This Pinkam is organized by our dancing class. This Dhanamaya Pinkama is done in the month of January before the start of the new year classes. Before we do this Dhanamaya Pinkama the class is painted and cleaned. The older students in the class participate in the class cleaning work and parents also help. This dhanamaya pinkama has been held every year for three years now. The monks are brought in by playing hevisi.  At the last dhanamaya pinkama, we offered a casket to the temple.🙏 Many children in the class will attend this day. It is hoped to hold this Dhanamaya Pinkama and receive blessings befor the start of classes.

There are three main types of local dance traditions. Up Country dance Tradition Low Country dance Tradition Sabaragamu Country dance Tradition Out of these three traditions, my favorite dance tradition is low country dance tradition.   This dance tradition is prevalent in the Southern Province.                       The main instrument of this dance tradition is the Yak Beraya. I studied in two schools. I first went to Homagama Maha Vidyalaya to study there for eleven years. I was able to come to a place like this today because the first foundations of this school were strong. It was from this school that I was able to show my artistic talent. I also participated in All Island Dance Competition and brought pride to this school. I was the prefect of this school for three years and I passed the GCE Ordinary Level examination well and got the opportunity to go to another school.   I really got love from mom and dad. But I got the love I felt from both grandmothers. A grandmother is like a sea of love, Because that love diminishes. from the I was born I grew up in the warmth of my two grandmothers. Those two love me so much. These two even knew the food I like and dislike. From the time I was a child, I slept in the warmth of my grandmother.   This is a dancing show that we hold in our dancing class. This is a platform created by the dancing teachers to showcase their talents to the students in the dancing class. The concert is held every three years. The concert has been held three times. This is a huge dance show with over 150 students in our dancing class. This was held for the third time on March 06, 2019 at the Maharagama National Youth Services Council Theater under the name ''Gamiraga prathiba 2019''. Since I was a student in this dancing class, I was also able to attend this concert. I am glad I was able to attend all three dance concerts organized by this class. There was an opportunity to showcase my talents. We practiced for over 8 months before this concert. The most important thing here is that our two dancing teachers, Gamitha Sir and Nuwan Sir, dance with the students. The concert consisted of 21 dances. We need a best friend in our lives. We need to have a best friend to say something that no one else can say. Blame those who hurt me and you also have to have a best friend to walk around the world. If life goes wrong some where you have to have a friend to save it. Join me when I want to cry, lough out loud when I want to lough, need a best friend to enjoy life with them. I met a lot of friends like that on campus. Out of those lot of friends, I have two best friends. They are both Chathura and Subashana. These two will help at any time if I have any problems. To me these two are like brothers. These two have been my friends since before campus started. Our friendship is more than a year old now. Our friendship started through WhatsApp and Zoom.   One of the things I chose to do to get tid of my boredom and find solutions to my life problems was to read books. I have not read books since I was a child.  I turned to reading books after A/L. Although I read books, I only read novels. I felt the stories in some of the books were similar to my life story. There were even answers to the problems I had in my life in the books I read. I have read a lot of books so far. But reading books is not my hobby. I will finish reading a book in two days. Books have been my life for a while. Reading books frees my mind. The first book I read was ''Senkottan''. That book made a deep impression on me. It made me more inclined to read books. The next book I read was ''Lovina''. Books are written by Mohan Raj Madawala.        My online life started in 2016. That is, from the day I entered a new school to study for A/L. Even before that I had a cell phone but I did not know how to use it much at that time.       As soon as I saw the mobile phones used by the friends I met at the new school and how they were used, I also wanted to buy a new mobile phone.  From then on, my online life began.      I spent most of the day on social media at the time. It was like I was addicted to it.        At that time I never used my mobile phone for educational purposes. I don't even regret it today. I have made my dream come true today. But because of my online life, even though I passsed A/L for the first time, I could not come to campus.
